Today is the 24th memorial of the September 11 terrorist attacks. We must remember and hold the perpetrators accountable. However, it is noteworthy that U.S. politicians have moved on since that day. The perpetrators originated from affluent nations, and U.S. officials have received substantial financial contributions and lavish gifts from these countries. While animosity persists among people, politicians engage in deals and enrich themselves at the expense of ordinary citizens. September 11 was a lesson that appears to have been overlooked by U.S. politicians. They continue to engage with countries that support extremists, hold regressive views on women’s rights, disrespect individuals with disabilities, and harbor animosity towards the LGBTQ community.
